Modern sealing systems have to deal with higher temperatures, lower component strength and higher deformation under mechanical stress. This is why some of the intake manifold gaskets are made of high quality rubber. Intake manifold gaskets seal the union between the intake manifold and the engine head. They are used to distribute evenly the mixture of combustion for every head entry to the cylinder port. The materials that we use are stainless steel, thermoplastic among others.
Exhaust manifold gaskets require metal beads where the gas passes through at very high temperatures and low pressure. These metal beads are always reinforced with metal sheets to resist the component movement that arises from large fluctuations in temperature. Modern exhaust manifold gaskets are made of uncoated, beaded multilayer steel (MLS). The number of sheet metal layers depends on the distortion of the exhaust manifold and cylinder head components. Leaks in the exhaust manifold may lead to bad results, such as bad exhaust values, a loss of power and increased fuel consumption. These types of gaskets seal the union between the exhaust manifold gasket and the head. Exhaust manifold gaskets are made with materials that withstand high temperatures, due to the driving of the gases produced by the combustion of the fuel inside the engine. The materials that we use are s tainless steel, thermoplastic among others.
